LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL……….

We had been thinking about opening a little wine bistro in Hilliard near my other business, Devoted Columbus, for the past couple of years. Our only hesitation was Covid, which produced not only financial and staffing fears, not to mention the time commitment. Brainstorming this idea, Brent remembered a wedding he attended in New York that had a cool mobile bar that people all spoke about. We did some research in Columbus, Ohio for mobile bars, and found several with camper bars, horse trailer bars, and tap trucks.  We knew we didn’t want to have anything like anyone else in Columbus.  This is the same philosophy I have with my other companies- I must be different and unique!!  The more we chatted about this the more excited we became.  We wanted to have a bar built that looked like a real bar you would step up onto and sit around.  We have a 33ft travel trailer for camping so why not pull a 24ft mobile bar!!  We started out researching franchises but after much research and intimidation, we felt we could do this on our own.

It was a year ago this month when Brent and I were on spring break in Charleston SC and Hilton Head.  We were sitting at a rooftop bar telling the bartender about our idea and Brent came up with the name after a couple of cocktails. I loved it and so did the bartender!  Soon after we knew we needed to jump on trademarking the name.

If anyone knows me- they know when I get something in my head I move fast, and that is exactly what we did.  We purchased a trailer sight unseen-(we did have pictures).  Then we found someone to build it to our specifications.  Next came decorating, finding the bar siding, brick wall background, ceiling lights, barn door, flooring, and bar top style.  Then shopping, my favorite part!  Shelving, chalkboards, tables, stools, bar decor, frozen drink machines, cotton candy machines, popcorn machines, fun yard games, heaters, and more!  Some things were hard to find due to Covid and others took a very long time to come in - like the tin roof that we just installed this month!

During the process of building out this trailer bar, a small horse trailer was for sale and brought to our attention and we decided that the big trailer will not fit into all locations we would also love to provide 1 other option since we can only do 1 rental of each trailer a day so we added the 1962 White Horse Trailer to our collection and offer an optional boho decor package.

So here I am writing my first blog for this company that I am super excited about.  Brent and I worked together in college and here we are over 25 years later getting to work together again!  We went to school for hospitality management and have loved being in the service industry. We thrive on making sure people have a great time, have great service, and love being a part of creating lasting memories!
